Description
In the “Allegra” vineyard, which expands in the lower area of the estate, along with other types of grapes (Canaiolo above all), Malvasia Nera grows and we decided to vinify in purity with a short refinement in terracotta amphorae. The result is a very particular wine, aromatic and velvety, with an intense flavor, very pleasant and easy to match. About 800 bottles are produced and this small quantity makes the wine even more special.
Grapes: Malvasia Nera 100%
Exposure: South-East
Soil: clayey with a medium texture
Vine training system: Tuscan arch and spurred cordon
Harvest: by hand in crates between the last week of September and the first of October
Ripening: fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement barrels (about 10 days) followed by 1 or 2 months on lees
Aging: 6 months in terracotta amphorae
Notes: the wine has an intense ruby red color, with aromas of ripe fruit, hints of spices and black pepper, complex and elegant with harmonious tannins … great personality.
It goes well with: medium / long seasoning cheeses, red meats, stewed dishes and pasta. It also allows combinations with fish and lighter meals.
